It's the month of torrential rains and it's  living up to that reputation. It's already 11 days into November as we speed headlong towards the end of 2023. The season of holidays is upon us as well. Today is celebrated in the U.S. as Veterans Day. Ordinarily a veteran is someone who has developed skills from years of experience in a certain occupation. Maybe someone with the knowledge can tell us what is being celebrated for Veterans Day - Is it the war the soldiers. Just heard that thanking the veterans for their service is not the proper thing to say. Along the way we like to stop and have a conversation. So Let's talk.

On November 11, 2004 one of the most famous figures in Palestinian politics died in Paris under suspicious circumstances. An investigation discovered that Arafat's clothing was highly contaminated with radioactive substances and that may have been the cause of his death. There is still a strong belief that Arafat was assassinated. It was also suspected that he was poisoned by the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence force with Thallium, a chemical that is hard to trace. Arafat was born in Cairo Egypt on August 24, 1929. His mother was Palestinian. Arafat had been involved in the struggle for the liberation of Palestine from the time that the state of Irael was first created in 1948. He was president of the Palestinian Authority and Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. In 1993 he negotiated a peace agreement with Israel in through Israeli Leaders Yztak Rabin and Shimon Peres. They jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994. Unfortunately, from what we see today the peace did not survive.

November 11 saw the death of another great Black revolution, Nat Turner. Turner Led a Black rebellion  in Virginia against the white supremacy regime. The military and white mobs responded and Turner was eventually caught and executed by hanging. .
