Part 3 Hear interview with Troy Towns , a former Senior Vice Chairman of the State Republican Party. His experience with a principal of BTW Magnet High School wa alarming as his daughter was asked to read a book and give a summary. The book was titled- Beloved by Toni Morrison. The author’s name may be familiar, because she is the same writer who penned the book, The Bluest Eye. This book was a topic of much controversy a couple of years ago, when Becky Gerritson read a portion of the book from the floor of the Alabama state house. The language was so crude, that a legislator had to break in and stop her reading. Ms. Morrison’s literature was supposed to be excluded as proper reading material in the state of Alabama. But to his surprise his daughter’s 12 th grade English class was assigned this book and he was the only parent who objected to the reading material, so approximately 25 other students read this book in its entirety. It was apparent then that there was a deliberate attempt to sexualize our children.
