This week hosts Paula Thompson, Christilyn Biek Larson, and André Radatus explore Creating Family Spiritual Culture and The Urantia Book; a new series on The Cosmic Citizen.

What does The Urantia Book have to say on the topic of religion and family culture? We'll study various places in the Book which speak about family and how to transmit family religious or spiritual culture to children.

Many Urantia Book readers are married to someone who is not a reader of the Book. There may be objections to conveying ideas and ideals from The Urantia Book on religion and other topics to the children. Conversely, there may be insistence on teaching the doctrine and dogma of a spouse's faith of origin or choice. Inevitably, a lesser or greater family culture clash may result. How can both objectives be reconciled and tensions avoided?

When these issues are unresolved it can lead spiritual parents to "teach nothing" or "let the kids discover spirituality on their own." This can result in undesirable long-term consequences. We will look at the effect that has on how one shares The Urantia Book's ideas. We'll also look at how to share your spirituality with your kids , and explore how to avoid potential conflicts. We must recognize the spirituality in our children and help them approach talking with peers about spiritual and religious concepts.

Perhaps you have had success in encouraging personal religious growth in your children, perhaps not. We invite you to call in and share your experience. Did you foster spiritual culture in your family cooperatively or with difficulty? Let's talk.
