Are you in the mood for meaning this week? Are you hungry to be inspired by the words of Christ as we head into the renewal of Easter and the promise of springtime? It's been a long, cold winter and we're all ready for the promise of new life and the effulgent joy of spring. So celebrate with us this week on the Cosmic Citizen, in honor of Easter and in memory of Jesus, as we read Paper 180 from The Urantia Book, The Farewell Discourse. This paper is sublimely touching, superbly meaningful, eternally valuable, and deeply profound!

The paper retells what Jesus said to his associates, knowing that he was soon to leave them. It covers these amazing sections:

1. The New Commandment: That his followers would love one another even as he loved them, and by doing so, all men would know that they were his disciples.
2. The Vine and the Branches: A timeless metaphor depicting the Sons of God being as branches on Jesus, the living vine.
3. Enmity of the World: His beautiful admonition that they not be discouraged when faint-hearted believers turn away from their faith and against them.
4. The Promised Helper: His promise to pour out the Spirit of Truth upon all flesh, a gift that would work together with God's indwelling spirit to help them remember all that he had taught them.
5. The Spirit of Truth: An explanation of The Spirit of Truth and how it helps humans interpret their experiences in a spiritual way.
6. The Necessity for Leaving: "If I go not away, the new teacher cannot come into your hearts. I must be divested of this mortal body and be restored to my place on high before I can send this spirit teacher to live in your souls and lead your spirits into the truth."

We hope you tune-in and enjoy this exquisite paper with us and invite you to call to share your thoughts on the teachings!
