Our program tonight is "Lessons For Us All:  Overcoming Extreme Poverty and Life On Welfare."  Our special guest tonight is speaker, author, and advocate, Ms. Pamela M. Covington.  Ms. Covington worked in communications for over 30 years. Her articles have appeared in city lifestyle magazines, daily and weekly newspapers, and numerous company publications.  Prior to her occupational successes she unexpectedly went from living a financially secure, middle-class lifestyle to that of a welfare recipient struggling below poverty level in crime-ridden, drug-infested neighborhoods.  She escaped that stint of deep poverty through the pursuit of higher education and has earned a master’s degree in Management, a master’s degree in Human Resource Management, a bachelor’s degree in Communications, and an associate degree in Television Production.  She offers practical personal strategies to help others move beyond their challenges and take more control of their lives.

Join us tonight for this enlightening discussion as Ms. Covington shares with us what she endured, and how she overcame a life of deep poverty to become a successful businesswoman.
