Karl's Kavern- Spike Jones Appreciation Day with Jones historian Jordan R. Young

 Before Garfunkel & Oates. Before Weird Al. Even before the great Stan Freberg, there was Spike Jones- the Godfather of the Novelty Song. Though there were novelty songs before Spike, he codified the parody song and true insanity during the 1940's well into the 1960's. Through his vast recordings and TV show, he was a source of inspiration to every artist who ever recorded a novelty song, and far beyond that.  

We are pleased to have for our special guest this podcast Jones historian Jordan R. Young. Jordan is the admin of the FB group "The Spike Jones Appreciation Society" and also has written several articles and books on Spike Jones.
