We continue our commentary watches celebrating Black History Month with my choice- the very unusual Blaxploitation film Top of the Heap- written and directed by Christopher St. John (Shaft).
Combine a gritty drama about a black police officer in Washington DC with family problems with the plot of Secret Life of Walter Mitty- and you get this one of a kind film that has been a favorite of mine since I tracked it down in the early 2000's.
Considered lost, it now has a cult following and truly is unique in the annals of black-themed films.
Please join us on Feb. 15 at 8pm EST for our commentary watch. Top of the Heap is available for rental at Amazon or free with commercials on Tubi.
