Join Michael as they chat with Florence Sterlin about being a black woman leader and how her team successfully navigated the challenges of the pandemic by working together and using technology in partnership with Deltek to bridge the communication gaps and lead in new ways.

Women of color account for only 4% of C-suite leaders and are promoted to manager at far lower rates than men – so it’s no wonder that  Florence  faced challenges taking over her family’s engineering business.

Florence faced many hardships in 2016, but the communication gap the COVID-19 pandemic created soon became one of the most important hardships to navigate. Florence knew that the key to driving her family’s company forward was collaboration. Digital tools mended the communication gap between DB Sterlin’s employees and leadership, creating and sustaining a company culture of continuous feedback, connection and mentorship.
