Interview with Tom Leaman, MD Founding Chair Department of Family and Community Medicine M S Hershey Med Ctr Penn State University in Hershey, PA. We'll talk about how a new medical school and university hospital was started in Hershey, PA and how the Dept of F & CM was the first department with the first residency program in the hsopital. Dr Leaman will speak of the people and the era that pioneered the vision for his department. We'll hear of the importance of patients, students, faculty, physicians and the surrounding community in the development of the Hershey Medical Center and tom's Department. Dr Synonymous trained there, so nostalgia may spew a bit. Tom will mention thought leaders who helped to develop family medicine education, including F. Marion Bishop.
