Dr Synonymous: Viet Nam 40 Years Ago, Radiation, Nix Pharma, Herbs for Moods, FNP's

Dr S begins with a reflection on Viet Nam 40 years ago when he was a helicopter pilot for the Army engineers. Dewey Canyon II and Lam Son 719 were the combined US, ARVN (S. Vietnamese military) operations to cut the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos and prove to the world that ARVN troops were ready to defend their country. This would further enable the US to pursue peace and/or US exit. Dr S, then Cpt Jonas in 1971 got a good view of the DC II operation while a few of his West Point classmates ('68) were in more intense areas of engagement. Cpt. Don Davis was notable in getting shot down 5 times (yes, FIVE) and rescued 5 times while airlifting ARVN troops into and out of hot LZ's (landing zones). Wikipedia has nice maps and detail about the two operations. Dr Carrie Nelson's Blog is reviewed for its radiation comments about CT scans and body scanners in airports. Our confluence of disciplines is needed to better serve the primary care needs of America. We need to upgrade to get it better and faster. Nurses still care and family doctors are hanging on but need someone like Cpt. Don Davis to commit to our purpose and help with the rescue.
