eCareDiary interviews Dr. Michael Weiner, director of the Center for Imaging of Neurodegenerative Disease at the VA Medical Center.

Dr. Weiner has an extensive research background and holds the role as the Principal Investigator of the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). This project aims to define the rate of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease, improve methods for clinical trials and provide a database which will improve the design of treatment trials. He also currently serves as a caregiver to his mother who is suffering from early signs of Alzheimer’s disease and voluntarily participated in the trial by undergoing all of the necessary tests involved with ADNI. Please see the below links for more information.
