BELIEVERS ARE YOU LOOKING TO HILLS  OR ARE YOU LOOKING BACK?

Psalm 121
121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt” (Genesis 19:26). She lagged behind. She turned and watched the flaming sulfur fall from the sky, consuming everything she valued. Then it consumed her. The Hebrew for “looked back” means more than to glance over one’s shoulder. It means “to regard, to consider, to pay attention to.”
In Exodus 12 God delivered the children  of Israel and now in chapter 14 they are looking back, Exodus 14:11-12 Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt? 12“Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” •It was less than 48 hours after departing Egypt andthey had already started their grumbling. They hadn’t even reached the Red Sea andtheir negative attitude showed. God delivered them and they passed through the Red Sea, witnessing the destruction of the Egyptian army.  Let me encourage you as we prepare to go into this new year, let’s not look back as to want to go back and be pulled into our past. But let us trust God and as Jeremiah 29:11 says go with plan God has for us.

PRAYER: Lord thank you for your insight for our lives, you are our shepherd and we are trusting in you, In Jesus name, Amen
