Born in Philadelphia, PA to Janet Taylor, who was a model and Robert Bullock, an artist, who also served in the Navy, Jillian was only two years old when her mother and father divorced. It was actually her mother and stepfather, Jake Stein, a member of the Philadelphia Italian Mafia, who raised Jillian.

Adding two more children to her life, Jillian continued with her studies by transferring to La Salle University. She was promoted to a full-time reporter at the newspaper while she was still in college. Although it took Jillian 11 years to graduate college she earned her degree in 1991 with a BA in Communications, with a heavy concentration on journalism and film production. After graduation, Jillian moved from journalism to film in order to fulfill Jake’s dream of her becoming a filmmaker. Jillian was fortunate to get an internship on the set of Spike Lee’s movie Malcolm X.

Jillian loved the process of filmmaking so much that she worked on her own movies, (Spirit and A Filmmaker’s Personal Journey), and other filmmakers’ movies as a screenwriter, director, producer, actress, or fight choreographer. She was able to secure that last position due to her extensive background in martial arts, (she holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and one in Wing Chun), and boxing. As a former competitive martial artist, she is also certified as a personal trainer and currently trains in boxing and Muay Thai.

She has sold two scripts in her career so far; The Champion Inside, a drama that involved boxing and cancer and Scar Across My Heart, a drama that included mixed martial arts and rehabilitation after prison. Due to her expertise as a screenwriter and a filmmaker, in 2006, Jillian was asked to be a screenwriting judge for the Set in Philadelphia Screenwriting contest, which is sponsored by the Greater Philadelphia Film Office. She has been a judge each year since that time.
