Our first guest is Dr. Ken Weizer who is a Naturopathic Doctor with a background in movies. He was a film director and editor for 15 years, working in Hollywood (and around the world) on movies and children’s shows.

In 1989 his film career, and his life, were challenged when he was diagnosed with cancer. Through the use of conventional and complementary medicines, Dr. Weizer was able to reclaim his health.

The success of this approach led Dr. Weizer to reconsider his career in the film industry, and focus on helping others by studying naturopathic medicine. Dr. Weizer has clinics at the Providence Cancer Center in Portland, Oregon and Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital in Beaverton, Oregon.

In our second segment Dr. Weizer will be interviewing Christine (Keys) Long. Ken’s new show ‘Stories for Life’ will be premiering right here and produced by Help4Cancer.net later in August on Thursdays at 630PM PST and 930PM EST.

Christine's Story - "In April of 2010, Christine went to the doctor to have a small bump in her right breast checked.  After several tests and a double mastectomy, it was determined that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.   A year later, she began feeling fatigued and out of sorts. Christine told her employer that she might have cancer again (they had completely stood by her during the first go around) but would need to wait for the results of the PET scan. Two weeks later she was fired and her health insurance was immediately terminated. The results of the PET scan showed that the cancer had indeed returned and metastasized to several places including her liver and spine. The Oncologist looked at her squarely and stated that with treatment, statistics gave her 2-3 years to live.
