Donavan Brown is a poet/writer out of Atlanta, Ga.  He’s the proud author of the 2003 novel My Brotha My Brotha, chronicling the ups and downs in the lives of four friends living in the Atlanta area.  Donavan sees his poems as “open letters” appealing to the consciousness of men and women of color. You can usually catch him dropping verses at the Apache Café and other various open mics around the city.  Donavan is currently working on new poetry, which he intends to debut this spring, and he is also jockeying for a spot on TV One’s Verses & Flow.
