Islam in Focus--Iranians Rediscover Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism was for a millennium the official faith of Persian emperors like Cyrus the Great (reigned 559-529 BCE), but now counts hardly more than 111,000 followers in the world.  Yet modern Iranians, disenchanted with Islam, the official ideology of Iran's theocratic Islamic Republic, have increasingly turned to belief alternatives, including Zoroastrianism.  This ancient faith appeals to Iranians as an authentic expression of Iranian culture.  Show host Andrew E.
