On May, 1, 2020, Scottsdale Community College President Christina Haines in Arizona condemned the "offensive nature" of quiz questions involving Islam in a World Politics course and "their contradiction to the college’s values" after a Muslim student complained. She added that the professor, Nicholas Damask, one of academia's few conservatives, "will be apologizing to the student shortly." His case illustrates the ongoing threats to academic integrity concerning the study of Islam as well as the role of groups like the Hamas-supporting Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which once again played a leading role in silencing Damask. He will join show host Andrew E. Harrod to discuss this recent example of censorship of disquieting analysis about the "religion of peace."
