A person who possesses characteristics linked to narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), a mental illness marked by a persistent pattern of exaggerated self-importance, an overwhelming desire for praise, and a lack of empathy for other people, is considered narcissistic.
These characteristics are frequently seen in narcissists:
Grandiosity: an exaggerated feeling of one's own significance, frequently coupled with visions of unending prosperity, strength, intelligence, beauty, or the perfect partner.
Need for Admiration: An ongoing desire for undue praise and attention from other people. Lack of empathy is the inability or reluctance to understand or relate to the needs and feelings of other people.
Entitlement: the conviction that one is exceptional and extraordinary and ought to connect only with other esteemed individuals or organizations.
They could anticipate being treated well and having their expectations automatically met. Manipulative behavior is when someone uses others for their own gain, frequently with little thought to the effects on the people being used.

These characteristics can show themselves in a person's conduct and interactions in various ways, which can cause problems in social situations, the workplace, and romantic relationships.
There is a spectrum of narcissism, and not every narcissist fits the diagnostic requirements for an NPD diagnosis. Some individuals may display narcissistic tendencies without suffering from a severe illness.

Although they could initially come across as endearing and captivating, their incapacity to sympathize with others and their insatiable thirst for praise can cause problems and unhappiness in relationships, both personal and professional.
Manipulation and Control: Narcissists frequently exert control over others by manipulating them.

Which involves disparaging and criticizing someone—gaslighting—which consists of making someone question their reality and love bombing
