Who is Fred Thomas Jr.? I am a seven time 2012 N.A.A.C.P Theatre Award nominee and winner of Best Director, Best Playwright and Best Producer for my play 12’ x 9’. I graduated from Lincoln Univesity PA and also an alumnus of Temple University, where I received my Masters in Film and Media Arts. I am the founder of Temple University’s Black Media Collective, and was part of the ensemble cast with director Charles Stone III (Drumline, Mr. 3000) in Stone's short film TRUE starring as one of the Whassup Guys. That short film spawned the iconic Budweiser Whassup Guys! commercials which would go on to become one of the most successful and memorable ad campaigns for Budweiser with a total of 17 commercials, and garnered the 2000 Cannes Film Festival Golden Lion Award for the Best Commercial in the World.
