When Mary McManus was diagnosed with post polio syndrome in December 2006, she had no idea the world that would unfold before her. She was told she had to quit her full time award winning career as a social worker at the VA and would probably end up in a wheelchair and need to adapt her two floor Cape house. Mary got still and turned to her higher power as she had when she had paralytic polio as a child at the age of 5. Echoes of Dr. Seuss which her physical therapist, Miss Holly, read to her before every painful physical therapy session tugged at her soul and she began writing poetry. Today Mary is a business owner, and successful published author of two books. She is a business owner and sought after Public Speaker. She even crossed the finish line of the 113th Boston Marathon on April 20th, 2009. What were details that led her from Polio to POWER? Tune in to find out.
