Most of us tend to endow God/Spirit/Universe with human traits - we anthropomorphize the God of our understanding and, in so doing, we may be shrinking what Universe, God, Allah, the Holy Spirit, etc., etc.. can do within, around and with us! If we limit Spirit, we limit ourselves!
Spirit doesn't have arms, legs, eyes, ears - any physical attributes because God is not human and never was. In some belief systems, Higher Power took the form of God in Jesus Christ or in the form of great leaders and even magnificent animals, but Spirit is Spirit and is not human or animal of any kind. Even calling God, "Him" or "Her" is restrictive because Spirit is always Spirit and is genderless.
Divine Intelligence, Almighty Living and Loving God - Higher Power does not have human attributes or feelings. To say that God is mad or that Spirit is taking revenge or that God is sad is to endow Spirit with our emotions and is a way to constrict our experience of Higher Power.
Join John Warren and Ellen Hartwell today as they talk about the restrictions we place on Spirit when we anthropomorphise Spirit!
