Guests: Indie rock band Tommorrow Depends and singer/songwriter Lisa Barrett.
Among the myriad of bands competing for mainstream attention, there is one group that is standing out from the rest of the pack. Tomorrow Depends is a three-piece alternative rock act from London, Ontario with the sound and energy from which legends are made. Recently nominated for “Best Young Songwriters” at the 2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards, as well as “Favorite Rock Group” at the 2010 London Music Awards, Tomorrow Depends is on it’s way to becoming a major presence in the music world. Their song “The Beauty of the Breakdown,” from their 2008 5-song EP release, was chosen for the Canadian extreme sports reality TV show “The Adrenaline Project.” The catchy, yet dynamic drive of the band is contagious – their popularity at the Provincial Youth Talent Search took them all the way to the top 13 of over 200 entries and made them finalists at the Jack Richardson Music Awards two years in a row (2009, 2010). These are impressive credentials, especially when you consider the fact that these guys are still teenagers - none in the band have even reached the ripe old age of eighteen.
Lisa Barrett is hoping a lot of people will get online and vote for her song, "When You Look at Me," which has made it into round three of the international "Best Original Song" contest. If she wins, she'll get her own Web page, and her song will be sent to dozens of recording companies, music labels (large and small), producers and agents. Barrett's song was one of 100 from around the world chosen for the contest. Of thos, 48 made it to round two and, you guessed it, "When You Look at Me" was one of them.
