Gentrification is the process of restoring run-down, delapidated areas in lower income neighborhoods by the middle class or higher. The projects always result i beautiful skyline apartment buildings, malls, business centers, etc., but the restored products are never offered first to the veteran residents who suffered through the delapidation with unanswered pleas to city officials for help and repairs.
Instead, these remodelers cause these long-term residents to be displaced from the place they called home for decades and almost always to a fraction of what they already have. Is this fair?
