Philadelphia Eagles' wide receiver, Riley Cooper, and Joe Rickey Hundley, an elderly Idaho man accused of slapping a crying toddler on a plane, both made headlines for spewing racial epithets. Both of these men used intoxication as defense for their behavior and actions.
Can we accept this defense, and blame it on the alcohol? Or did the alcohol simply open the floodgates to what is already inside of these men?
