Having a loved one who is an addict is tough. Committing to helping them overcome their addiction may be far more tough by comparison. Loving an addict and working to help them kick their addiction without proper support can lead to an unhealthy co-addiction by the support team members even if they never pick up the substance that their loved one is addicted to.
Loss of freindships, emotional roller-coasters, feelings of helplessness and futility are just a few things that can occur to make the effort seem unworthy of the headaches. Are there ways to prevent the supporters of addicts from becoming co-addicted by association and still be successful in supporting their loved one through the adiction? And tonight we debut our "All Hands On Deck" Writers' Showcase segment which will lead off our show, hosted by Lady Diamond.
