The United States has a huge hunger problem. Many families struggle to put food on their tables, and many are homeless who don't have the ability to buy food at all. Hundreds of dollars in perfectly edible foods get disposed of nightly at fast food chains and restaurants, and employees who choose to take home these foods to their own families, or give it to a hungry person get severely penalized or even fired for doing so. If the government mandates that these establishments allow the leftover wasted foods to be distributed to the needy, do you think this will make a significant dent in our country's hunger problem?
