Your baby isn't so cute anymore! He or she is now a teen, straddling that thin line between childhood and growing up. The backtalk is outrageous, the peer pressure is dangerous, and the blatant interference with the givernment is taking a parent's right to discipline and raise their own children right out of their hands. This gives your teen the false sense of entitlement that they can do as they see fit in terms of defying you, and challenging you to discipline them so they can call the police. It can often get to the point where your teen feels they can challenge you verbally, physically and legally. Violence can be a factor as well. Should a parent dealing with extreme actions from a child, where standard intervention and loving methods are ineffective stick it out until the "phase" has passed? Or do some teens truly need to learn the hard way?
