Alex Rodriguez has decided to drop a major lawsuit against the MLB that was intended to clear his name against the charges that he is under the influence of steroid use despite passing all but one drug test. Additionally, he was suspended for 50 games. Texas Tech basketball player Marcus Smart was forced to apologize to a fan who taunted him with racial epithets and to accept a 3-game suspension for a single retaliatory shove to the fan. Michael Dunn, shot several gunshots at a car full of teenagers who were playing their music too loudly for his taste, and one teen was killed by the shots. He is currently on trial using self-defense under Florida's Stand Your Ground law. Despite clear-as-day evidence that the teens had no weapons in their possession, or that the only evidence of gunfire was that of the defendant's gun fired several times at a receding vehicle, the state of Florida may yet again let another teen's death go unpunished. Are these yet more examples from the unbalanced scale of racism in the sports disciplinary board and American justice system?
