George Zimmerman--killer of 17-year-old African-American Trayvon Martin...acquitted under what many believe was a trial whose outcome was already pre-determined--and by a defendant protected by powerful racist financiers. Michael Dunn, killer of 17-year-old African-American Jordan Davis, found guilty of all charges except the one that penalizes him for Jordan's actual death...another outcome believed to be unjust by the African-American community.
As if these outcomes aren't enough to deliver a powerful blow to the parents of these victims...both of these men--(especially George Zimmerman), have been been pursued by the media to engage in high-profile exclusive appearances..such as interviews and other public forums. Is the purpose behind these interviews and media appearances for these killers to inform the public of necessary news, or is this media strategy to get ratings by turning these hate killers into celebrities through exclsuive airtime? Additionally, does this action devalue the worth of their victims' lives, and the families' grief?
