Yet another horrific school scandal has made the papers, headlining the lack of safety measures being enforced for our children. A Brooklyn elementary school is under fire after an investigation revealed that an eleven-year-old AND a ten-year-old female student made multiple complaints of sexual abuse against a specific group of male students that went both unreported and undisciplined for a period of three months. In addition to the girls' complaints, teachers who independently witnessed incidents of the same nature from these same bys reported what they saw, to both the assistant pricnipal and a guidance counselor. neither of the two officials who the complaints were reported to took action. When the Special Commissioner of Investigation got involved and asked why there were no actions taken, the assistant principal said she "simply forgot to follow up" after unsuccessful attempts to reach the boys parents' were made. If our children have no place to turn when they are trying to get help and follow rules in school , then should we turn to homeschooling?
