James Franco is in the news for attempting to lure a teen to a hotel rendezvous via social media. Numerous postings displayed to the public prove the progression of the interaction, yet his actions, along with a few other noteworthy colleagues before him, have met no reprimand, or have dodged penalties for these atrocities. In fact, these stories tend to lose thier heat and die down almost as quickly as they became the "Story of the Month." Scurry over to the other end of the hue spectrum, and we have R. Kelly, Kevin CLash, and Michael Jackson, all accused of and exposed for the same type of infractions with minors and you know the details of their cases years after the penalties have been served. What differs between these grand names but their race, which begs the question once more if race still plays a major part in the way justice and reprimand is delivered in what is supposed to be a colorblind system. More importantly, the fragile players in this drama are MINOR CHILDREN, so should not the laws implemented to protect our innocents be at the forefront of justice for them and nothing more?
