President Obama has implemented a clemency plan for non-violent offenders, including drug offenders. Immediately after the announcement was made, the media distributes a front-page article featuring a white prisoner with an admitted history of drug use and sell dealing, criminal history and imprisonment...the article painted her as a victim of circumstances and a survivor of tragedy who deserves a second chance. Given the endless practices of injustice against African-Americans in the justice system, will Obama's clemency plan be the one thing where Blacks will get a fair shake, or is this yet one more dangling carrot-on-a-stick that will never come to fruition for Blacks?
