Both the police officers of our nation, and the public, have a fundamental right to live in safety, but the crucial difference between the two groups is that one of the groups volunteered for paid positions which include danger as a package deal. While the police are forbidden from participating in a strike, they certainly are entitled to pursuing avenues to address unfair conditions they may suffer beyond the scope of their duties.
