Rape continues to be a high-impact crime with low-priority regard on the crime ladder. Society on a whole has placed the burden of proving, prosecuting and punishing rape on the victims via blaming them for their choices in apparel, trust, entertainment, etc. Perhaps more insulting and deplorable than the lackadaisical approach to by the justice system is the blatant support of rape by politicians and media regulation agencies who allow rape to look like raunchy consensual sex or minimalizing the act of forcible rape as a crime. The most recent additions of deplorable rape minimizing comments made by a politician is Marco Rubio, Repulican candidate for US President 2016, who stated in a public interview that he would inform rape victims that he acknowledges their rape as a "terrible situation", but he would would make them have their rapists' babies anyway. If that abhorration isn't enough, the United States allows rapists to have full parental rights of children they fathered in rape in 31 of our 50 states. Is the criminal factor of rape being blatantly removed by the actions and comments of authoritative figures? Join in tonight at 10:30 PM EST by calling 347-327-9967 with your thoughts.
