More than ever the public school system is spitting out new damage to the stability and and quality of our children's educational journey. The blatant watering down of history to suit the preferences of the dominant society, the introduction and mandating of the ridiculous Common Core curriculum, as well as the elimination of truly qualified teachers and enrichment arts are just a few things that reflect the deliberate erosion of quality in the public school system. Tonight, we will be addressing two major problems our students face that threaten their educational success as well as their state of mind--penalties for using terms of their religious faith in their assignments, and the failure to promote students based on their annual standardized test scores and not their achievements throughout the year. Meet Talibah Cruz-Roberts, whose special needs child is being denied graduation because no matter how often he has passed all other tests throughout the year, he can't complete his full regents exam in the time limit and fails because its incomplete, not wrong. And Aixa Rodriguez, a Bronx educator whose job hangs in the balance for standing up against negligence of our children both in the school system and a class trip. Your voices and actions are needed. Tune in tonight at 10:30 PM EST by calling 347-327-9967.
