"I Am Woman: Battling Obstacles In The Entertainment Industry"

Women have faced many challenges historically and to the present day. It seems we have twice the hurdles to jump over to prove our worth and abilities to do most things just as effectively as our male counterparts if not more efficently, and yet we still seem to have something to prove. In the entertainment industry, women still face being under-represented, under-utilized, underrated or not viewed as capable of being as much of a powerhouse in the industry as their male colleagues. Many female celebrities who have established and more than proven their worth, talents and capabitlies--both in quality and in longevity, have broken their silence on the barriers imposed upon women in the industry. These include Viola Davis, Halle Berry, Lala Anthony, Mo'Nique, Amy Schumer, and quite a few others.
