BIOGRAPHY
LaMont Wheat is an American recording artist and songwriter committed to creating and expressing songs that impact the hearts and minds of listeners in a positive and uplifting way. He is a soulful reedy tenor who has collaborated with artists from various genres including dance, pop, gospel, R&B and is known for his dance feature with academy award winner Jennifer Hudson and British remix producers Moto Blanco on “Everybody Needs Love.”
Talk show queen Mother Love says, “Still Standing, I love it, we need music we can understand” and The Examiner dubbed him the “New Luther Vandross” with smooth raspy vocals. LaMont has appeared in national media such as FOX’s Good Day LA, Reelz TV, The Mother Love Show, KPFK, KMOJ Radio, The Root and The Examiner to name a few. He is the winner or the 2017 KPTRadio Music writer challenge, a 2015 Akademia Best Song music award for "Anything" and is a two time POSI Music award songwriter nominee for global anthems promoting unity and world peace; “Still Standing” and “SKIN.” He currently writes for German based ROBA Music Publishing company.
LaMont sings and publically speaks to raise human conscious awareness and is and advocate for resolving community concerns impacting society.
