Today's episode is a conversation with journalist, former model, intellectual, style icon, and bon vivant Edward L. Corey as we discuss his life, growing up in NYC projects to receiving multiple Ivy League degrees, his passions, his career, and his journey in style through terminal cancer diagnoses.

Edward L. Corey is a red, white, and black American, born in New York City. His academic life comprised Public School 1, Junior High School 65, the South Kent School, Amherst College, and Columbia University's School of Journalism. He lived a healthy lifestyle, then, at the age of 66, was diagnosed with cancer. Two years later, he retired from his job writing advertising because the commute was an excruciating ordeal. Always into style, just before he received his cancer diagnosis, he had stocked up on new suits, shoes, shirts, socks, hats and caps – every item an urban and urbane man requires. Corey learned recently that his doctors are pessimistic about his survival beyond a year. Still, he dresses up for trips to the doctor’s office. Seeing him elates the staff. His motto: Elegance elevates everyone.
