Authors on the Aiur host Pam Stack welcomes Steve Alten to the show. Steve writes horror/science fiction and his book series MEG releases as a movie on August 11, 2018. See the movie trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udm5jUA-2bs.
About my guest: Steve Alten grew up in Philadelphia, earning his Bachelors degree in Physical Education at Penn State University, a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Delaware, and a Doctorate of Education at Temple University. Steve penned novel he had been thinking about for years and he eventually finished MEG; A Novel of Deep Terror. Steve sold his car to pay for editing fees. On September (Friday) the 13th, 1996, Steve lost his general manager’s job at a wholesale meat plant. Four days later his agent had a two-book, seven figure deal with Bantam Doubleday.
About his book: Seven years ago, and seven miles below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, Dr. Jonas Taylor encountered something that changed the course of his life. Once a Navy deep-sea submersible pilot, now a marine paleontologist, Taylor is convinced that a remnant population of Carcharodon megalodon—prehistoric sharks growing up to 70 feet long, that subsisted on whales—lurks at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. When offered the opportunity to return to those crushing depths in search of the Megs, Taylor leaps at the chance… but the quest for scientific knowledge (and personal vindication) becomes a desperate fight for survival, when the most vicious predator that the earth has ever known is freed to once-again hunt the surface.

Marty Roppelt was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He was brought up with Grimm's Fairy Tales at bedtime. Marty later ran across horror novels that his mother borrowed from the local library, by contemporary masters of the horror genre—Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Peter Straub.
Small wonder. Marty's parents emigrated from Transylvania.
Marty's original profession was acting. He lived in New York for a while and appeared in a few shows Off-Off-Broadway at the Spectrum Theater, and as an "extra" on the soap opera, Guiding Light. After returning to Cleveland, he continued acting on stage, in local commercials and training films, and in feature and cable films.
Marty also worked a wide variety of day and night jobs. He has cleaned swimming pools, delivered newspapers, been a security guard, waited tables, and tended bar. Today, when he's not writing a new short story or novel, he works as a Starbucks barista. He enjoys finding ways to use his diverse life experience to enhance his story-telling.
A pet project involves St. Herman's House, a men's homeless shelter in Cleveland. Always a bit controversial, the home ran into bad press, through no fault of the men living there. Nevertheless, donations dwindled dangerously in 2011. Marty saw a financial need he could not fill. So, over four years, he wrote short Christmas stories which he published and sold online to raise money for St. Herman's. He continues to look for ways to help the home.
Marty lives in northern Illinois with his wife, Becky, and their eccentric cat, Fritz. Mortal Foe is his first novel.
E.L. DuBois was born and raised in Texas where she still lives today surrounded by her amazing family, and menagerie of fur babies. She loves to travel, has seen many beautiful places, and can not wait to see more. Erica is an avid artist, music lover, and reader. She is a Southern Belle at heart with a passion for red soled shoes, a good romance novel, and LV bags. When Erica is not writing she can be found enjoying a beautiful life with her loved ones. Erica's personal experiences with domestic violence have made her an advocate, and supporter of great causes facing victims of any harassment or abuse. It is her greatest wish that no one ever has to suffer the traumas she endured, and that justice be brought for all those who have. These experiences have made her appreciate life, laughter, and love. She is a believer in positive attitude, positive actions, and paying it forward. Her motto is "do good things with no expectations, and life has a way of bringing goodness back to you".

Sensuality is in the aroma of your morning coffee, the flavor as it tickles taste buds, and in the feel of your body as it courses inside... oh, smells so good, come taste sensuality.
Find it, find your sensual voice. Whisper with wishes for romance, scream with desire, love, and longing. Find it in words;
In the bold aroma of freshly brewed coffee beans, the crispy taste of sizzling bacon as the flavor delights your tongue...
in the feel of a kiss as lips brush, tongues tangle, and mouths feast, and in the magic of eyes locking across a crowded room... find it in the beauty of nature, so full of sights, smells and sounds it caresses the senses... Find it...
Sensuality is everywhere, touch it, taste it, feel it. In poetry we can do anything, be anything; come express yourself.
Dip your quill inside the inkwell of endless possibilities and show me your sensuality, paint me a picture with your words.
Close your eyes, inhale, feel, breathe.. write on
