Sunbury Press Books Show--Michael E. Fox, Biographer of "Lew" Wallace
in Books
The full, eventful, and rich life of Lew Wallace is examined in detail in "Lew: The Life and Times of the Author of Ben Hur." Biographer Michael E. Fox appears on the Sunbury Press Books Show to discuss Wallace's career, and how one of the most popular novels of the 19th century was not religious, but a semi-autobiographical account of his own times.
Fox traces Wallace's early life in Indiana (Fox was raised in Crawfordsville, where Wallace was sent for schooling at the age of nine, and where he retired), his experience in the Mexican War, and his time serving as a field commander under General Ulysses S. Grant during the western campaigns of the American Civil War. Wallace also served as Governor of the New Mexico Territory, where he completed "Ben Hur," and as a US Minister to the Ottoman Empire.
Wallace's greatest work, "Ben Hur: A Tale of the Christ" is considered the most spiritually influential novel of the century. He also wrote several other novels and a biography of President Benjamin Harrison, a fellow Indianan and Civil War general.
Michael E. Fox developed friendships during his childhood with men who knew Wallace. He is a graduate of Purdue University, an attorney, and with a Master of Law (LLM) with Honors. He has worked for Eastman Kodak and served as President of Screen GP Americas, a maker of high-speed, high-resolution printing equipment and is considered a pioneer in modern-day printing and publishing technology. Now retired, he lives in Southern California.

Rhythm & Rhyme with IntimidusRex...
in Poetry
We are built in and of fluidity where tonal resonance in both voice and instrument beats heavily and with strength inside every fibre of our being. Poetry and music have been intrinsically intertwined for thousands of years, ancient Greeks used the lyre and Chinese the pipa and guqin. Think of the troubadors and minstrels who had unprecedented freedom of speech inre content and how voice and strings could soothe the savage breast and delight upper crust audiences as well as local townsfolk. At LNP, we encourage you to join in and draw from the modern offerings whom we shall highlight, thereby opening our thoughts, ideas and genres that we enjoy at home, in stadiums, outdoor venues and on the radio anytime, anywhere. We are generations of tempo-ed voices birthing our hearts, pain, anthems, protests, humor, satire, embracing all things poetic, musical and those forms where the love of, begins, with you.

Garden of Enlightenment ... Luyu Wild Dove & Company
in Poetry
"Poetry IS When an Emotion has Found its Thought and the Thought HAS Found Words"... Robert Frost Poetry has its own individual voice in each of us. It is the lyrics of our experiences that form and shed enlightenment in who we are. Each poem paints what is, what is missing and the desires that burn inside each of us that we crave. They are the door we open in our soul's closet taking out our hidden treasures, exposing them to the world. Trinkets, jewels of emotions of different textures, colors and strengths we place before you in poetry.

After Midnight with Rex and Pam...
in Poetry
Stop in After Midnight, We at L-N-P's After Midnight invite you to- dine on the words, voices of those giants; those ministers to the maelstrom brewing third eye bright, screamt from that reality, billowing, with their breaths. You've suckled with Bukowski, published obscene odes with Ginsberg, went on the Road with Kerouac and broke on through the other side with Morrison. Come .... walk past the edge of Midnight, open those doors wide and step through that portal. And as your eyes see, then the mind becomes a playground, a vast universe, Unique. Free, of the constraints born in preconceived theories, where your voice, will be uncloaked, Heard.

Close Up Radio Spotlights Author, Entrepreneur, and Church Leader Darran Crager
in Books
Nampa, ID - Happily married for 37 years (with bumps along the way), author and spiritual coach Darran L. Crager and his wife Shelly, are working together to teach couples and individuals how to grow a joyful and content marriage that is full of hope.
As an avid storyteller and reader, Darran has always had visions of storylines. About seven years ago, he started putting pen to paper, and soon had a manuscript that a publisher accepted almost immediately. Guarding the Past has helped changed reader lives, “by opening their eyes to lost truths in the world and through spiritual growth.”
Since then, Darran has written six books, publishing five in four years (his next book, Hiding in the Cloud is scheduled to be released in September, 2024).
In Battle in the Bedroom, Darran explains the four stages of intimacy and marriage. Is Your Life Out of Order? offers practical tips and strategies to restore balance and take charge of your life. His action/thrillers fiction books with Christian themes include In a Warrior’s Quiver, Guarding the Past, and Journey of the Hidden.
According to Darran and Shelly, the biggest challenges facing marriages are communication, sex, and money. Sex in marriage is one of the biggest reasons for fights and divorce.
What lies ahead? Darran working on several more thrilling fiction books. He and Shelly are planning a book together focusing on parenting, and they will continue holding marriage and parenting seminars through churches and private/Christian schools.
