The mainstream American news media have not been kind to the Tea Party movement, according to one of its most impassioned members, Dr. Ed Holliday. Holliday, a conservative author and speaker, has been a supporter of the Tea Party in his home state of Mississippi almost since its inception. Contrary to national news media’s biased portrayals of Tea Party activists as bigots and homophobes, he says that the movement welcomes members from all walks of life, and is accepting of different viewpoints. Dr. Holliday himself has worked hard to bring about racial reconciliation in Mississippi and regards Dr. Martin Luther King as one of his personal heroes. CREDENTIALS: Dr. Ed Holliday is the author of WALK WITH ME: A Patriot’s Guide from the Boston Tea Party to Today’s TEA Party Revolution. A dentist by profession, Dr. Holliday is a frequent guest columnist for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal and has had essays published in several books. Through his work with the Tea Party movement, he has become a passionate promoter of conservative values and principles.
