For years music has been held to a such a strong standard that music like "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday still hits home to the injustice and systemic racism. Not only can music be influential, but it is also extremely poetic. The artistic composition of the words put to music is why songs like "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", "What A Wonderful World", and so many others are still popular and remembered. Tonight, we'll talk about the relationship to music and violence. If you have a comment you want to add tonight on Poetic Talk Tuesday's #ptt or would like to call in, then the call in number is (516) 387-1903.
