Elizabeth (Beth) Hamm is a member of BetterInvesting and has served as a trustee of the organization. In that capacity, she served as Interim Chairman of the Board and Nominations and Succession chair. She is the daughter of the founder of NAIC/BetterInvesting, George A Nicholson Jr., who developed the organization’s principles and Stock Selection Guide. Following in her father’s footsteps, she developed and implemented the Model Investment Club format, which has been used by other chapters in the BetterInvesting community. Using this model, Beth piloted a student study/investment club, (the Traveling Investment Club) at her son’s high school.
Beth also authored a column for BetterInvesting Magazine entitled “Not For Women Only”, and has taught all aspects of the Stock Selection Guide through college programs, community education classes, and chapter seminars. She founded two BetterInvesting investment clubs, Grand Rapids Eager Earning Dames Investment Club (GREEDI Club) and the Holy Rollers Stock Club. She was a founding director of the Western Michigan Chapter, where she served as the education chair, vice president, president and program chair of the Great Lakes BetterInvesting Regional Conference (BIRC) in 2005. Currently, Beth is challenging her investment club members and friends to purchase a share of a dividend-paying stock for their children or grandchildren to teach them the benefits of investing.
