Kristiana Coignard had a knife. The tiny 17-year-old girl, afflicted with mental illness, showed up inside a Longview, Texas police station at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Then, a series of events unfolded that would lead to the end of her life. Recently released surveillance video shows an altercation preceding the teen’s death. Police officer Glenn Derr struggles with the teenage girl and does not restrain her with zip-ties or handcuffs.
