St. James Parish, Louisiana is also known as 'Cancer Alley.' The abnormally epidemic rate of cancer  along this region coincides with massive industrial pollution. There has been zero accountability for the public regarding this situation. The fact that St. James Parish is dominantly a community of color is no small coincidence. Once again, we witness another instance of environmental racism. Not only are the residents being poisoned by proven carcinogens--but they have been threatened with criminal prosecution at the felony level--for what are minor misdemeanors at best.

The foreign owned corporations that are repeatedly permitted license to poison--are also the result of a legal contrivance created by the multi-national trade agreement industry--namely ISDS. ISDS is an arbitration court that has been granted the power to set aside any local, state or federal laws that is desires. Tune in to this new episode in our "Environmental Racism' series--titled Cancer Alley.
