Guam is an unincorporated United States territory in the western Pacific Ocean.  It is the largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands and the largest island in Micronesia. Guam has an area of 210 sq mi.  The U.S. military maintains jurisdiction over its bases, which cover approximately 39,000 acres (16,000 ha), or 29% of the island's total land area:  Currently, North Korea is threatening an attack on Guam.
