The Camp Fire is the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history.. Paradise is a town in Butte County, California, United States in the Sierra Nevada foothills above the northeastern Sacramento Valley. Much of Paradise was destroyed by fire on November 8, 2018, after the community was struck by the fast-moving Camp Fire, which, within one day, killed at least 42 people and destroyed at least 7,177 structures, of which 6,453 were homes.[10][11]
