    Church of His Glory

    in Religion

Hello COHG Family! Praise the Lord for this avenue of being able to come together. We are living in such an amazng time.....the worst of times and the best of times. I know you have heard that teminology many times. I will be talking about a word today....SHIFT! We have crossed over the threshold of a New Door into a New Season. Do you fully understand what it means when a SHIFT has taken place and what that involves? The word SHIFT can be a noun or a verb. They are very similar in meaning. A SHIFT is a change in something or an adjustment in the way something is done. So, you can either MAKE a SHIFT (that's the noun), or you can JUST SHIFT (that's the verb). Now watch this....A DIVINE SHIFT is a supernatural move from one place to another: a slight change in position or direction; the supernatrual act of putting in the place of another or changing the place of a person or thing. A God SHIFT can seem like chaos. God is shifting you into position fo the promise that you've been praying for. Sometimes a God SHIFT looks like chaos, setback and even defeat but God is saying to you, "When the dust settles, you will understand why you had to go through what you've been through!"

EXCOMMUNICATION–JUST & UNJUST, Part 1 of Ch 9 of The Church and The Priesthood

    in Religion

EXCOMMUNICATION–JUST AND UNJUST, Part 1 of Chapter 9 of The Church and The Priesthood

    Pages 178 to 183

In simple terms, communication includes a connecting, sympathetic relationship, while excommunication involves a disconnection or exclusion. In a Latter-day Saint context, some have thought that excommunication results in some terrible curse or judgment that befalls those cut off from the Church. However, when someone is excommunicated for a gross sin, that person has already incurred a severe judgment, for he has already lost his Priesthood because of his actions, and his excommunication has nothing to do with that loss.

Most churches, notably Christian and Jewish, have a ceremonial program for the punishment of their members. The type of punishment depends on the seriousness of the sin. When greater offenses have been committed, individuals are removed from the general membership of the church. Thus, they are “excommunicated,” “cast out” or “cut off.” Just as a man might have an arm or leg cut off or separated from the body, so is a member separated from the body of the church.

Cutting off. In the Old Testament a penalty or form of punishment used primarily, though not exclusively, for various offenses against the ceremonial laws. The agent of the “cutting off” was either God or the community. (Wycliffe Bible Dictionary, p. 412)

The Revelation of Jesus with Rick Sterling~

    in Religion

It's been quite a ride recently, with the national election looming in the USA, and the rhetoric flying fast and loose. The one thing that is interesting in this is that it is becoming more clear as to what information is Truth, and what is not. The disconnect is becoming wider between the perception of reality and what actually IS reality.
The point of this observation is that this situation is eerily similar to what has been going on in the Christian church since Jesus left earth for home. The Evil One has co-opted the perception of truth, and turned it into something that 'sounds' like truth, that 'feels' like truth, that operates like truth in the lives of Christians that are "born again", but is decidedly NOT truth when you compare these beliefs to the words of Jesus that He gave to His own eyewitness disiples WHILE HE WAS HERE ON EARTH. Jesus never taught what is being preached from the pulpits, Sunday (and Sabbath)-school classrooms, and evangelitic meetings as the concept that Salvation comes by declaration of love between God and man, that we are saved by faith that the blood of Jesus on the cross saves us IN our sin, that once we declare this love we are no longer subject to a punitive "Law" that only separates us from God's love, and that God knows that we as frail humans have no power to keep the Commandments, and for this reason "righteousness" is a free gift from God.
This "doctrine" was put to bed yesterday on The Bible on Trial (October 18, 2024), where it was proven that this is not the salvation model that Jesus taught.
You can be awaked to the truth of God by joining Spirit of Truth Ministry today, October 19, 2024, and listening to our podcast The Revelation of Jesus with Rick Sterling, on: blogtalkradio.com/sot.

About Religion

Few things in life set us apart as distinctly as what we believe (or don't believe). From the most fervent among us to those just beginning to explore the possibilities, religion is a powerful force in our lives. BlogTalkRadio is where believers and nonbelievers of every denomination gather day in and day out to find resources, preach to others practicing and discuss the specific belief systems that guide us, bind us and often divide us. Christians, Pagans, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Pantheists, Sikhs, Jews, Wiccans, Unitarians, Satanists, Druids, Agnostics, Atheists, Secular Humanists and more will find likeminded friends to dialogue with, whether in heated debates or in collective prayer. You'll hear from bestselling authors, world leaders and kindred followers for inspiration and fellowship. And for those listeners and hosts who consider themselves spiritual but not religious, we've even got a separate Spirituality category to explore beliefs on your own terms.
