The origin of justice stems from the Egyptian culture which was centered on order, everything had its due place in the world. Maat, also known as Ma’at or Mayet, was a female goddess in the ancient Egyptian religion who represented truth, justice, balance and morality. In Western World the eyes of lady justice symbolizes the fair and equal administration of the law, without corruption, avarice, prejudice, or favor.Lady Justice is blindfolded because justice just has to hear the evidence and weight it in her mind. The scales hold the valid and invalid evidence. However, one might wonder is justice really just. Do you see equal and fair treatment in the courts we are in today?
