Know Show, tonight, 12/14/16 w/Rev. Lafayette Seymour, Pioneer in NT-Metaphysics

Our guest tonight on the Know Show, with Rev. Mc, is Rev. Lafayette Seymour, a Unity Minister and friend of Rev. Mc's, they became acquainted during his service in Washington, D.C., with the varied Unity Churches he was serving and specifically during his tenure with the I.N.T.A., as Rev. Rev. LaFayette R. Seymour was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. The youngest of seven siblings, LaFayette excelled in school and finished at the top of his class at the legendary Booker T. Washington High School.  LaFayette attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, graduating with a Sociology Degree. It was at Fisk University, in pursuit of a Masters in Sociology, that he met the love of his life; a young beauty from Charleston, S.C. named Barbara LaRoche, who would become his wife.

LaFayette initially entered Harvard Divinity School but left to pursue another calling in the newly formed Peace Corps, serving his first mission in West Pakistan in 1962.  In 1965 he and Barbara married and travelled to Nigeria where LaFayette served as a Director with the Peace Corps in the West African country.  After a third mission in India, the Seymours came back to the States, settling in Washington DC with their two children, Allison and LaFayette Jr.

The New Thought Philosophy has changed in many ways to become the beacon of light that it is to the world and to serve those who are appreciating the history of yesterday’s past and at the same time embracing the today’s meditation and associated spiritual practices. We will discuss those changes this evening and also talk about where Rev. LaFayette feels the New Thought Churches of today are headed, what changes they must make in order to stay in tune with the history of yesterday as we embrace the subtle nuances of today and tomorrow.
