The discussion is guided by the eminent scholar and author, Alton B. Pollard, III, dean and professor of religion and culture at Howard University School of Divinity in Washington, D.C.
Dean Pollard's writings include Mysticism and Social Change: The Social Witness of Howard Thurman (Peter Lang Publishing, 1992); “How Long This Road”: Race, Religion, and the Legacy of C. Eric Lincoln (coedited with Love Henry Whelchel Jr., Palgrave Macmillan, 2003). Pollard is an associate minister of Covenant Baptist UCC Church in Washington, D.C.
